Step by Step Guide to Sound Insulation Testing
With extensive experience of sound insulation testing reports in Warwickshire, London, Cornwall, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Kent, Dorset, Hertfordshire , Devon, Sussex, and throughout the UK this is a very basic breakdown of how the sound testing is undertaken:
01
Source Room Noise
We make a very very loud sound on one side of the party wall or party floor (Airborne Sound Testing) and measure this diffuse sound.
02
Recieving Room Measurement
Once we have established the source room noise; we then measure the noise as transferred from the source room through the party wall or floor (this is then repeated for different speaker positions)
03
Background Correction
With all speakers off we measure the background noise in the receiving room for correction to the measured level of the receiving room measurement (02)
04
Reverberation Measurement
The final correction is for reverberation within the receiving room,. This is done by measuring the decay of the reverberant energy once the speaker is switched off.
How much does Sound Insulation Testing cost
acoustic testing price or sound insulation testing price depends on what has been built or refurbished and there for will result in how many tests and what type of tests need to be undertaken.
